Bubble Level – Spirit Level does not collect or store any personal data itself. Your measurements, calibration and settings never leave your device. The app does show advertising, which is served by Google AdMob — that service collects some data, and this policy explains what and how you can control it.
We do not collect, store, or receive any personal information about you. The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics of our own, and no crash reporting. We have no server, and no measurement you take is ever transmitted.
To work as expected, the app saves the following locally on your device:
This information stays in the app's private storage on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
The app is free and is funded by advertising. Ads are served by Google AdMob, a service provided by Google LLC. To deliver and measure ads, Google may collect and process:
This data is processed by Google, not by us. We never receive it in a form that identifies you; we only see aggregate earnings and performance reports.
Google's handling of this data is described in the How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services notice and in the Google Privacy Policy.
The app uses your device's motion sensor (accelerometer) to measure tilt, and the vibration motor to confirm a level reading. It requires internet access solely to load advertisements — measuring works fully offline, with no ads shown while you are disconnected. It requests no location, camera, storage, microphone, or contacts permission.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Ad requests are configured so that advertising is treated as non-personalised where a user is identified as a child or where age is unknown in jurisdictions that require it.
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Everything the app stores lives on your device and is removed when you uninstall it. Data held by Google in connection with advertising is retained according to Google's own policies, linked above; resetting or deleting your advertising ID in Android Settings severs the link to your device.
The app reads your device's accelerometer, so measurement accuracy depends on your hardware and on calibration. It is intended as an everyday reference. For structural, safety-critical, or certified work, use a certified instrument.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date. Material changes affecting advertising or data handling will be reflected here before they take effect.
